The idea behind porting FieldConvert
utility to Python is to allow the user to execute a
seamless workflow, from converting the mesh and running calculations to preparing data
visualisations. This solution is a potential improvement over the original FieldConvert
tool,
as the Python-based workflow can potentially be executed from a single Python
script.
Another advantage of the Python version of the tool is the possibility of interacting with other software featuring Python interface, e.g. Paraview. This could make the process of visualising the results of computations done with Nektar++ even easier.
